1. Basics & Definitions

Alarm: An alarm event is always based on the monitoring of a tag (device/system tag or tag of a component connected to the device). For this reason, an alarm (alarm event) can only be created directly on the device, in the device settings.

Alarm Group: An alarm group is a fixed component of alarming (alarm event). In an alarm group, the users are specified who are additionally be notified via SMS or e-mail if an active alarm occurs.

Alarm Profile: Alarm profiles are an extension of the project and device alarms. In an alarm profile, it is possible to specify whether, when and how a user is to be notified additionally outside the portal when a system alarm occurs.

Active Alarms: In the widget Active Alarms all active alarms for this device are displayed

This video shows how-to setup an Alarm and use the Alarming function. Also Alarm Groups, Alarm Profiles, Active Alarms and Alarm Permissions will be presented in this video.

3. Reset incorrect alarms

Such alarms are normally automatically removed from the list of "Active Alarms" as soon as the cause has been ended as the triggering event. If this does not happen to you, most likely you have deactivated the associated alarm definition before the triggering event has ended:

To solve the problem, in the same view you have to use the tool button to "reset incorrect alarms":

Finally, update the view and take note that the "Active alarm" has been converted into a "Gone alarm" (if the alarm has not been acknowledged before):
