I want to request device status (online/offline/active connection) for logging into my own cloud application.

When we have this feature we can see whenever the machines are online and not producing or offline and not producing.

Thank you for your suggestion!

We are not planning to implement an API right now, but I open this suggestion for other to vote to see if this is also interesting for other customer applications.

Dear Thom,

with Firmware Version 8.2.0 we will implement SNMP into the mbNET, not mbNET.mini. We provide MIBs like Uptime, Ports connected, VPN connection active etc.

We decided to use a Standard like SNMP v3 for requesting data from the hardware to delivery it securely and not creating an new API.

Release will be in Week 30.

Hello Jörg,

Your talking about an API directly connecting to the MB device.
What i mean is an API connecting to the portal, to for example get the status of multiple devices at once.

Dear Thom,

its been a long time, we are now MB Connect Line GmbH again since two of my colleagues made a management buy-out, we had a big security fix and I was sick out for 6 weeks. So sorry that you waited again so long.

We discussed this topic and we will not bring this API in for the shared (public) mbCONNECT24 Portal but you have the option to realize your request when you will use mymbCONNECT.virtual, so your own RSP. In case you are not willing to host this on your own, we will find a solution. In this case we will talk with Rene Van der Mer to offer you that. This is nowadays also easier because in the meantime we developed a migration tool, so that your account on the mbCONNECT24 server can be migrated with all settings, users and rights as well as devices.

The solution the would be this:

- You can use the integrated VPN-Port on an mymbCONNECT24.virtual Server and a MQTT-Broker will be setup here. This port can read out all devices in the VPN-network (it was formerly made to use it for SCADA applications in hardware we sold together with mbCONNECT24). This functionality is still available without hardware and can be used wherever you install or where the RSP is installed. Anyways, with a f.ex. "Last Will msg" you can then you collect all devices status data and make these available for your surveillance.

In case this is interesting for you, please send me a message to joerg.wehnert@mbconnectline.com

I will close this case here in the helpdesk.

Regards

Jörg
