Preparation

  1. Go to https://downloadportal.mbconnectline.com/de/mbnet.html and download the latest firmware version (e.g., "mbNETmini_FW_V232.zip").
  2. After unpacking, you will find the actual firmware file "mbnetmini.sbs" along with the "Changelog.txt" and "open-source-software-licenses.txt" files.
  3. Save the firmware file to a USB stick.
Notes:
  • The firmware file must not be renamed and must be stored in the root directory of the USB stick!
  • The USB stick must be formatted as FAT or FAT32!

Execution

  • Check if the device is ready for operation: (LED Pwr Rdy are lit)
If the device supports SIMPLY.connect, this is indicated by a brief "flash" of the LED Usr every 2 seconds.
The blinking for the detected firmware file, on the other hand, is steady.
  • Plug the USB stick into the USB port of the device. Pay attention to the Usr LED.

  • Once the device has detected the firmware file, the Usr LED starts blinking quickly (Blink frequency: 3 Hz)
  1. Press the Function button within 10 seconds.
  2. Hold the button down until the Usr LED lights up.
  3. Release the Function button.
  4. The device will then restart.
  5. When the LED Pwr and Rdy LEDs are lit, the firmware update is complete.
The device is now ready for use again and can be used as usual.
You can now remove the USB stick.
Warning:

IMPORTANT: During the firmware update:

  • Do not press the Reset button.
  • Do not turn off the device.
  • Do not remove the USB stick.
Notes:
  • If both a firmware file "mbnetmini.sbs" and a configuration file "mbconnect24.initial/-mbne" are present on the USB stick, the files will be recognized as follows:
    1. mbnetmini.sbs => Fast blinking LED Usr (Blink frequency: 3 Hz)
    2. mbconnect24.initial/-mbne => Slow blinking LED Usr (Blink frequency: 1.5 Hz)

If, for example, only the firmware file "mbnetmini.sbs" is to be loaded, wait for the automatic detection of the firmware file for about 3-10 seconds, until the LED Usr switches to fast blinking. Then you can proceed with the "Load configuration file" procedure.

  • In rare cases, the USB stick used may be unsuitable for this process. In this case, please use a different USB stick.
