mbNET.mini: Transferring a Configuration via USB

Transferring a Configuration via USB

Applies to: • mbNET.mini
Requirements:

You need:

  • The router with the current firmware version. (At least firmware 2.3.0.)
  • A USB stick formatted to FAT / FAT32
  • A configuration file suitable for the router mbconnect24.initial or mbconnect24.mbne

You can download the file via the download icon and the selection [Download Configuration to PC] from the portal.
Note:
  • The formats mbconnect24.mbn and mbconnect24.mbnx are no longer in use.

Preparation

  • Copy the file mbconnect24.initial or mbconnect24.mbne to the root directory of the USB stick
The file must not be renamed

Execution

  • Check if the device is ready for operation: (LED Pwr Rdy lit)
  • Insert the USB stick into the USB port of the device. Pay attention to the LEDUsr
  1. Once the device recognizes the configuration file, the LED Usr will start blinking slowly (Blink frequency: 1.5Hz)
  2. Press the Function button within 10 seconds
  3. Hold the button down until the LED Usr lights up permanently
  4. Release the Function button
    • After successfully reading in and activating the new configuration, the device restarts.
    • An mbconnect24.initial will be deleted
    • An mbconnect24.mbne will be renamed to Xmbconnect24.mbne.

When the LED Usr is off, Pwr and Rdy are lit again, the device is ready for use.

Note:
  • If the configuration is the initial variant, the router attempts to connect to the portal to retrieve its complete configuration. This process takes a few minutes with a good internet connection.
Notes:
  • If there is both a firmware file mbnetmini.sbs and a configuration file mbconnect24.initial/-.mbne on the USB stick, the files are recognized as follows:
    1. mbnetmini.sbs => fast flashing LED Usr (flashing frequency: 3 Hz)
    2. mbconnect24.initial/-.mbne => slowly flashing LED Usr (flashing frequency: 1.5 Hz)

If, for example, only the configuration file is to be loaded, wait approx. 10 - 20 seconds after the automatic detection of the firmware file until the Usr LED starts flashing slowly. You can then carry out the “Load configuration file” procedure.

  • In rare cases, the USB stick used may be unsuitable for this process. In this case, please use another USB stick.
