Note:
  • Only devices and registered Web2go connections will be migrated. All user settings and licenses remain unaffected by the migration.
  • Devices of generation HW:01 can only be brought into the RSP using the procedure described here. They cannot be newly created there.

Note on the accessibility check:

The accessibility check tests if the router can reach the RSP V2 at its address 5.39.123.20. To future-proof, the end customer should allow the range 5.39.123.16/28 in their firewall. See also:

Performing the Migration

If all ➜ requirements are met, you can begin the migration:

  • Step 1: Check compatibility and accessibility

    • Log in as admin in your V1 account
    • Click  [V2 Update Check]

    • Select the devices you want to check for migration suitability by checking the checkbox [✓] before each device entry. Multiple selections are possible:
    • Click on  [Accessibility Check]
Depending on the number of devices to check, you may need to wait. Afterward, you will get an overview of which devices, for example, still require a firmware update and which devices are compatible with RSP V2:

The fields have the following meaning

      Description Explanation
Status Shows the connection status of the device with the portal. Devices that are offline cannot be checked.
      Name Shows the device name.
      Type Shows the device type.
Firmware Status Shows whether the device has the minimum required firmware version. A firmware update may be suggested.
Accessibility Check Shows the result of the accessibility check
(time of check, RSP IP reachable, DNS resolution)
CTM Active Shows if CTM is active on the device.
V2 Compatible Shows whether the device is compatible with RSP V2 and thus an export is generally possible.
Last Export Shows if and when the device was exported.

  • Step 2: Export the devices

    • Select the devices you want to export by checking the checkbox [✓] before each device entry. Multiple selections are possible:
    • Click the [Export]button. The configurations of the selected routers will be transferred as a download in an encrypted file with the extension *.enc.

  • Step 3: Import the devices

    • Log in as admin in your RSP / V2 account
    • Open a project or create a new project:
    • Click the green [+] symbol and selectImport devices:
    • The file selection dialog of the device importer will appear:
    • Click the [Choose File]button to choose your export file via the Windows file selection.
    • Click the [Upload]button to upload it to the portal.

You will receive an overview of the import details:
    • Check the device names and serial numbers; these must not be duplicated in the portal.
    • Click the wrench icon and select[Import devices].
    • Confirm the following security prompt with [Accept]
    • The imported devices will be displayed in the portal:
  • Step 4: Adjust configuration

    • You can now adjust the configuration of the device
      Warning:

Older mbNET routers from hardware generation HW:01 can no longer be synchronized after the final migration.

Our recommendation: Make planned adjustments/changes to the router configuration immediately after the device import and before the final migration step.

Afterwards, changes must be made via the device's web interface. Any changed LAN IP must be updated in the portal. For other values, you can also update them – for documentation purposes.

For support and safety reasons, a device replacement should be considered. s.a.:➜ EOL mbNET HW:01

  • Step 5: Trigger the device migration

    • Log in as admin in your V1 account
    • Click  [V2 Update Check]
    • Devices for which an export file was created are marked with a floppy disk symbol:
    • Click the floppy disk symbol of the respective device to trigger the final migration step. (This step must be done individually for each device)

    • You will receive the CTM dialog:
    • Enter your RSP account name in theRSP Account Name field.
      Warning:

It is crucial to enter the correct spelling of the account name here, as the device will not be able to register with RSP otherwise. Ensure that only the account name is entered (e.g., "musterfirma"). Do not include a username or @ symbol. Double-check the spelling!

    • The preset values for validity and email information can be left as default.
    • Click [Transfer configuration to CTM] to trigger the final migration.

  • Step 6: Final Check
    • Log in as admin in your RSP / V2 account
    • Open the project that was used for the import.
    • The migrated routers will now connect with the RSP
Note:Routers with CTM updates may exchange functionality information with the RSP V2. To fully utilize the routers' functionality with the portal, synchronize the imported devices one final time.
