1. Basics & Definitions

Alarm: An alarm event is always based on the monitoring of a tag (device/system tag or tag of a component connected to the device). For this reason, an alarm (alarm event) can only be created directly on the device, in the device settings.

Alarm Group: An alarm group is a fixed component of alarming (alarm event). Usres can be added to an alarm group so that they are notified via SMS or e-mail when an active alarm occurs.

Alarm Profile: Alarm profiles are an extension of the project and device alarms. An alarm profile specifies if, when and how a user is notified when a system alarm occurs.

Active Alarms: Active as well as gone alarms are shown in the portal until they are manually acknowledged on the mbNET-device. The alarm history cannot be deleted.

2. Using Alarming

This video shows how to create an Alarm Group and how to setup Alarms. It also covers Alarm Profiles, Active Alarms and Alarm Permissions.

3. Reset incorrect alarms

The following are images of an active alarm:

Such alarms are normally automatically removed from the list of "Active Alarms" as soon as the cause has been ended as the triggering event. If this does not happen please check if the alarm-rule is activated.

To solve the problem, in the same view you have to use the tool button to "reset incorrect alarms":

Finally, update the view and take note that the "Active alarm" has been converted into a "Gone alarm" (if the alarm has not been acknowledged before):
