Let´s encrypt certificate

Tutorial: Let´s encrypt certificate

For making the handling of Frontend-SSL-certificates more easy and comfortable, it is possible to use the free of charge service Let´s Encrypt:

https://letsencrypt.org/

Let's Encrypt is a non-profit certificate authority that provides certificates for Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption at no charge. The certificates are valid for 90 days each and can be renewed automatically. For the automatic process of renewing the certficate the server needs to be reachable online.
Therewith an automatic process replaces the complex manual steps for creating, validating, signing, setting up and renewing of certificates for encrypted websites that has been in place so far with other methods.
It is a pure "domain validated certificate". That means the portal proves to the issuer CA (LetsEncrypt) to have control over the entered domain.

Step-by-step guide:

1. You need to apply a domain name for your server, which indicates to the public IP of your server

2. Enter this domain name under "Domain" in the backend of your server under "System > Certificates > Frontend SSL Certificate > Lets Encrypt"

3. Enter your contact E-Mail address in the "E-Mail" box

4. Read and accept the Terms of Service

5. Complete the process by checking the box "Active" and apply by clicking on the "Save" button

Following to these steps, the complete validation process happens in the background. Afterwards the entry is saved and active and an additional Log-output of the service appears:
