mbNET / .rokey: Transferring a Configuration via USB

Transferring a Configuration via USB

Applicable to: • mbNET • mbNET.rokey
Requirements:

You will need:

  • The router with the latest firmware version. (At least firmware 8.3.0.)
  • A USB stick formatted as FAT / FAT32
  • A configuration file compatible with the router mbconnect24.initial or mbconnect24.mbne

You can download the file from the portal by selecting [Download configuration to PC].
Note:
  • The formats mbconnect24.mbnandmbconnect24.mbnx are no longer in use.

Preparation

  • Copy the file mbconnect24.initial or mbconnect24.mbne to the root directory of the USB stick
The file must not be renamed

Execution

  • Check if the router is operational: (LED Pwr Rdy lit),
  • Insert the USB stick into the USB port of the device. Pay attention to the LEDs Fc1 and Fc2
  • As soon as the device recognizes the configuration file, the LEDsFc1 Fc2 will start blinking:
  1. Now press the button Dial Out/ FCT and hold it down
  2. Pay attention to the LED Fc3
  3. As soon as Fc3 is blinking, release the button Dial Out / FCT.
    • After successfully reading in and activating the new configuration, the device restarts.
    • An mbconnect24.initial will be deleted
    • An mbconnect24.mbne will be renamed to Xmbconnect24.mbne.
  4. If the two LEDs Pwr and Rdy are lit, the reading process is complete
Note:
  • If the configuration is the initial variant, the router will attempt to connect to the portal to retrieve its complete configuration. This process takes a few minutes with a good internet connection.
  • The mbNET is now operational and can be used again as usual.
  • You can now unplug the USB stick.
Notes:
  • If the USB stick contains both the firmware and a mbCONNECT24 portal configuration, the firmware from the mbNET is always recognized first (Fc1 Fc3 blinking). If you do not press the button Dial Out/ FCT(from HW:06) within 10 seconds, the mbNET will switch to the portal configuration (Fc1 Fc2 blinking). If you also do not respond within 10 seconds here, the device will revert to normal mode.
  • In rare cases, the USB stick used may be unsuitable for this process. In this case, please use another USB stick.
