Tutorial: Access to the Internet and devices connected to the WAN interface

Here, tutorials are summarized which show the internet access as well as access to devices which are connected to the WAN interface.


1. Access to the Internet and to devices that are connected to mbNET / mbNET.mini routers on the WAN side

1. Access to the Internet and to devices that are connected to mbNET / mbNET.mini routers on the WAN side

Both PC2 and the Internet should be accessible for PC1.

  1. Settings of the devices:
    1. PC1: IP: 192.168.0.112/24, Gateway: 192.168.0.100, DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    2. PC2: IP: 172.25.15.74/24, Gateway: 172.25.15.253, DNS-Server: 172.26.255.250
  2. Set router IP-Addresses LAN and WAN:

  3. Make sure in the firewall settings that the SNAT (LAN) function is not selected:
  4. Enable the ICMP protocol in the firewall settings:

Now, PC2 can be reached from PC1 and PC2 has Internet access.


Notice

You might need to change the Windows 10 Firewall setting on PC2 to be able to ping it.

2. Access to the Internet with mbNET / mbNET.mini routers via a moblile communications network

For the PC, the Internet connection should be enabled via the router's mobile network connection.

  1. PC setting:
    1. IP: 192.168.0.112/24
    2. Gateway: 192.168.0.100
    3. DNS-Server: 8.8.8.8
  2. Set router LAN IP address:
  3. Set router internet:

  4. Make sure in the firewall settings, that the SNAT (LAN) function is not selected:

The PC should now be able to access the Internet.
